What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine can be used to provide a variety of drug dependency treatment services, including individual counseling, group counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and even case management which can help patients coordinate their treatment and connect them with other resources, such as housing and employment assistance. Telemedicine is a convenient way for patients to access drug dependency treatment. It allows your doctors appointment to be completed via video app. You will talk directly to your physician just like you would at our office. For patients who live long distances from treatment facilities, have transportation obstacles, or who's work hours or work travel make it difficult to keep appointments, telemedicine is a great path to successful recovery.

Telemedicine can be a valuable tool for providing drug dependency treatment, as it can help to increase access to care, reduce costs, and improve patient satisfaction. For example, telemedicine can allow patients to receive counseling from a therapist who is located in a different city or state. This can be especially helpful for patients who live in rural areas or who have difficulty traveling to a treatment center.

Telemedicine has a number of benefits for drug dependency treatment, including:

  • Increased access to care: Telemedicine can help to increase access to care for people who live in rural areas or who have difficulty traveling to a doctor's office.
  • Improved patient satisfaction: Telemedicine can improve patient satisfaction by making it easier for patients to access care and by providing them with a more convenient and comfortable way to receive care.
  • Increased engagement in treatment: Telemedicine can help to increase engagement in treatment by making it easier for patients to attend appointments and by providing them with more support.

How does telemedicine work?

To begin treatment your first appointment would occur at our office in Lexington. This initial face to face meeting will allow all of the required paperwork to be completed, a careful exam to be done and a subsequent treatment plan to be formulated. Instruction on how to accomplish your future video appointments will occur.

Future appointments via video will begin at intervals necessary to achieve stability and success with the treatment plan. All drug testing kits will be supplied free of charge and performed during our video chat. Proper prescribing of medication will be made to a pharmacy close to your home.

The Lexington Center's goal is to allow any patient increased accessibility to quality treatment through the convenience of telemedicine. We strive to help all patients achieve a successful recovery. Call our office now to begin this great path to treatment.
